30 Days Of Creativity … DAY 12: THE WORLD’S GOT ME ON A STRING

For the 12th Day Of Creativity the Inspiration Calendar suggests STRING. Since I couldn’t find my old Duncan YoYo and couldn’t think of anything creative to do with my string weed-wacker, I decided to illustrate how I often feel using my favorite wall monkey as my model. OK, be honest, how many times have you felt like the world’s got you on a string?  Note the monkey’s prop. It’s a hand-carved wooded bowl and stand from Nigeria. The stand is three interlocking figures carved from a single block of wood. It was a gift from my nephew and niece. My nephew is the math teacher at the American School in Lagos and his wife is the school guidance counselor. They’re home on summer break from the school. The monkey puppet was originally a gift for my best girl Mlle. Renee that I kept for myself.
