Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

SILHOUETTE - Each year on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of October, I end up shooting the same photo. It’s a silhouette of trees and shrubbery with the setting sun in the background. I’ve been doing this now for six years, and no two photos are the same. It started when I became a member of Forest Park Forever, an organization whose goal is to restore, renew and preserve Saint Louis’ 140-year old 1,371-acre park in the center of the city. Each year they hold a Family Fun Fest in October to thank their friends and supporters which I attend with my family. We end our outing with dinner at the Park’s Boathouse, and then walk to my bus stop where I take my annual silhouetted picture. This year, a building thunderstorm accented the setting sun producing a very dramatic touch to the photo.
