GUESS WHO DRESSED FOR CHRISTMAS?
Meet Marty The Meerkat, he has been my Zoo Parent adoptee for the past seven years and he has been sitting stoically on the photo shelf behind a picture of my brothers and me. This Christmas I added part of my old Lionel train to the shelf and Marty had to move.
So I moved him to stand alongside the carved native African art on the end table next to the love seat. During the move Marty insisted that he be allowed to dress in a way fitting to the occasion. Now, ① since Marty was standing on top of the sewing machine that serves as the end table, and ② though I watch Project Runway on a regular basis I am no Becky C. who could whip out a dashing dashiki of dazzling holiday design in a flash.
“You’re too short-waisted to wear a dashiki,” I told him, “it would look like a night-gown on you.” So I offered to let him wear the Santa hat that Pepe the Taco Bell Dog usually wears.
“Really!” he exclaimed. “Meerkats celebrate Kwanzaa!”
Sheesh! Things are really getting weird when stuffed animals talk back to you.

I think his body type might defy my design abilities. He looks quite dashing in his hat, though.
I learned that other than hats, meerkats do not dress.
Buncha exhibitionists!
