Weekly Photo Challenge: Resolved

Share a picture which means RESOLVED to you!

I have never really been one for making New Year’s resolutions. It’s not that I couldn’t use a little self-improvement. Like … doing the dishes after I finish eating the evening meal. For some reason eating and then rushing to wash the dishes and pots and pans takes all fun out of enjoying a good meal. So I procrastinate. “I’ll get the dishes, but I should let the meal settle a little.” Or, “I’ll get to the dishes right after I watch NCIS.” Which occasionally  becomes, “I’ll clean up the kitchen right after I watch the News at Ten.”  It’s not like I put washing the dishes off until the next morning. I usually wash the prep dishes as I’m cooking. That only leaves a medium-sized plate, a cup or a glass and a knife and fork to wash anyway. And it would be a shame to waste the dish soap and hot water tonight when I conserve natural resources by washing them with the breakfast dishes in the morning.

So, I decided to let Mlle. Renee, my loyal four-footed companion, to suggest a resolution for me. And she jumped at the opportunity by handing me this picture …ReneeWalks

In other words … or plain doggie speak … ENOUGH EXCUSES! No more “It’s too hot.” or “It’s too cold.”  When I run to the leash hanging on the old rocker, let’s get up and start pounding the pavement. We both could use the exercise.

So we went out and toured the neighborhood this afternoon.  And Mlle. Renee was a very happy girl.

Hey, a daily constitutional was good enough for Harry S … wonder if he had a dog to give him that old get up and go?
