DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #025 – JANUARY 25

For a different twist this Friday, I’d like to start off with a couple of puzzles of my own …

ROB’S PUZZLE #1  While I was cleaning house yesterday, I decided to freshen up my MAC. I removed the photo of Wotan and the Serpent from the Met Opera production of Das Rheingold, and replaced it with a classic painting.

What’s the name of the painting and the artist?

ROB’S PUZZLE #2  Here’s a photo I took of my dinner last night …DSC05174

What was I eating?

Now back to my Daily Calendars Challenge for Friday …

1- The Origami ChallengeDSC05175

Chocolate wizard! Humbug! I did my own version and called it GANDALF THE GREEN.DSC05176

So, I didn’t have any old Hershey Bar wrappers or chocolate-brown folding paper. I wanted to do Gandalf the Grey, but I didn’t have any gray paper. Anyway Gandalf was known as Gandalf the Green when he was just starting out.

3 – A PENT UP PENTAGON Mensa puzzle … DSC05179

OK, I haven’t been able to complete this puzzle yet. I’ll update you with a comment to the post a little later today.

  1. If I would have stayed with trying to solve the puzzle I probably would have solved it. I knew the five highest value numbers had to go in the cent of each line. But trying to distribute the five lowest value numbers on the corners ran me ragged. Starting at the top and moving right — 1 – 10 – 3 – 6 – 5 – 7 – 2 – 8 – 4 – 9 – 1
