DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #029 – JANUARY 29
Today’s Origami Calendar Challenge is designed around a variation of the organ base that was featured last weekend.
Only today I had to make a folded paper COIN PURSE.
The amazing thing is it only holds enough coins to purchase a round trip ride on the Metro Trains and Buses. But I’d be S.O.O.L. if my fingers couldn’t get the coins out of the purse. I guess it is supposed to be a companion piece to the minuscule billfold I folded in Challenge #002.
Nobody claimed origami creations were practical.
#2 – ROSE ROWS Challenge
This was a listed as a Young Minds puzzle. I showed them that even aged minds could do it without blinking.
#3 MENSA CALENDAR
There are only five different number combinations that add up to 32. But that was too easy for the Mensa Masters. They wanted to know how many variations of those five 4-digit numbers there were. It took them the entire back of the calendar filled with small type to show you what you had to do to come up with a total of 35 digits. 8888 was the only 4-digit number that had no variations.
Yesterday, the temperature for the 28th day of January reached 75 degrees. Today we’re going to be plagued with wind, rain and thunderstorms. Poor Mlle. Renee. Maybe I should have ordered that CD amazin.com spammed me about a couple of days ago.
They said someone in my household would appreciate the recording. I accused Renee of using my computer again and she got peeved with me. I sampled the songs on-line and had to apologize to her regarding my accusations. The recordings were all v e r y , v e r y , s l o w recordings of classical tidbits played on what sounded like a tiny tin piano. Hell, I sound better than that when I practice on my Casio keyboard. Renee doesn’t mind the playing, but when I decide to sing along she grabs hold of my pant’s leg with her teeth and proceeds to shake it until I stop. No, Renee would never do that … she just leaves the room.
