DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #044 – FEBRUARY 13
#1 THE ORIGAMI CALENDAR CHALLENGE – THE KIMONO HEART
This origami fold is known as the kimono heart because the heart is created by the paper overlapping the way a kimono would. If I can fold it correctly.
You know what? This would make a great valentine’s Day card … with a special message inside the fold.
I felt ambitious; so I made a second heart using Chinese patterned folding paper. Naturally, this was to celebrate The Year Of The Snake and the Chinese New Year which got rather short shrift this year due to Mardi Gras and Saint Valentine’s Day . I did make a Chinese styled dinner last night to celebrate … Sweet and Sour Meatloaf.
#2 – THE MENSA PUZZLE CALENDAR CHALLENGE – ASH IT ALL!
In case you didn’t notice on the two calendar pages … there was a little notice saying today is ASH WEDNESDAY. The puzzle’s challenge is to find a word that ends in ASH for each of the eight clues. And I was able to get them all. Your turn! ;-}
#3 THE PAGE-A-DAY PUZZLE CALENDAR – DOT MATRIX
Sure this one involves math. But it’s practical every day math that doesn’t involve Fred and Tilly exchanging a bunch of not very colorful rocks. I had no problem solving it. So to make this a bit more difficult … how many dots would it take to fill the center hole of the ? square?

In the “ash” challenge, I’m too sleepy or forgetful to come up with number 6.
Balderdash! Back before they came out with a gameboard edition, we used to call it The Dictionary Game.
Dang!
