Well, after a Sunday that left us with an inch of rain and the ground completely covered with all the leaves that finally lost their grip on the tree branches … the weather turned cold. Fortunately, it didn’t drop to the predicted 29F … it stopped at 30, which was enough to bring a stop to the roses that had bloomed majestically in their first season. Even tinged with frost they still were impressive. But with the chill in the air, I didn’t feel like getting the soggy leaves off the lawn.

So I decided to cook …First a boneless pork loin baked to a perfect, brown, juicy roast. And …

a loaf of orange cranberry bread.
