DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #99 – APRIL 9
Making him jump is another matter …
While video would be the ideal medium for demonstrating, you’ll have to live with a two photo simulation. On the right, you see me getting ready to plunk froggy’s magic twanger and make him jump as seen in the left photo.
DIGRESSIVE NOTE: Anyone who grew up in the forties and fifties and listened or watched Smiling Ed and the Buster Brown Gang every Saturday morning will absolutely verify that my froggy actually jumped from one photo to the other. Those who were born after that time period are just going to have to Google …
Smilin’ Ed McConnell and Froggy The Gremlin
Little did I realize while I listened and watched Smilin‘ Ed’s Gang (and later Andy’s Gang when McConnell grew too old) for well over 15 years, that when I grew up I’d end up writing advertising copy and promotional material for company that sponsored all those shows. And yes, boys and girls, just like Froggy and Midnight the Cat, there really was a Buster Brown. I know, because I met him and he actually said, “Hi, I’m Buster Brown and I live in a shoe. That’s my dog Tige, look for him in there, too!”
I’ll get back to this one later. It’s going to take me at least half a day just trying to figure out the rules for this puzzle.
