DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #120 – APRIL 30
Guess what I’ll be making for my nephews and nieces? I’ve had a thing for pandas ever since I was in grade school when we had a pair of pandas in the St. Louis Zoo. This was more than a few years ago, since they actually arrived at the zoo the year I was born.
HAPPY (male) and Pao Pei (female)
I don’t know if they ever mated (parents didn’t talk about things like that with the children back then), but they lived together for six years when Happy died in 1945. Pao Pei survived the loss and lived until 1954. I think I’ll name my origami panda Happy.
Well, I was able to name all of the countries except #4. The country names were scrambled in the following words: 1-plane, 2-rabies, 3-analog and 4-enemy, which spelled out Nepal, Serbia, Angola and Yemen. I thought for sure the country in #4 was hidden in militias, but never could come up with a country with those letters.
#3 THE PAGE-A-DAY PUZZLE CALENDAR – MORE YOUNG MINDS AND THEIR MAGIC NUMBERS
Is that all these kids can do? They should have more respect for the seniors, rather than making up math-minded puzzles to confound them. I don’t do math puzzles with fractions and negative numbers. I prefer to think of 3/2 as 1.5!
