DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #122 – MAY 2, 2013

#1 THE ORIGAMI CALENDAR CHALLENGE – JAPANESE TEA CUP

DSC06912 Yesterday’s challenge was to fold a Japanese Teapot, so naturally today’s challenge followed up by folding a tea-cup. Not just any ordinary tea-cup, but an authentic Japanese Tea-Cup.DSC06919

Naturally, I had to reunite the pot and cup, since they were a matching set.DSC06924

Think I’m going to have for fold a bigger pot.

#2 THE MENSA PUZZLE CALENDAR –  WORD SQUAREDSC06925

Well, after yesterday’s letter replacement code that I totally failed, I redeemed myself by solving this puzzle rather quickly. In case you would like to try, I won’t post the answers until Friday.

And in case you missed the news today, a five-year old boy was admitted to the MENSA SOCIETY today. The little genius was not the youngest member. That honor belongs to a four-year old girl. They’ll probably be writing math problems for next year’s calendar.

#3 THE PAGE-A-DAY PUZZLE CALENDAR – TOUCHY NUMBERSDSC06929Oops! I started filling in the puzzle before i photographed it. So that gives you a head start. And yes the answers are correct.

  1. Robert,

What’s your strategy on this touchy numbers puzzle? I keep guessing and checking. Care to give me a clue on how to look at it?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    • Guessing, checking and sheer luck. Sometimes it helps to see what the +3 or -3 value of each number is. Also i use the eraser a lot. There is also more than one correct solution to this puzzle.
