DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #129 – MAY 9, 2013
I know what a tater is, but what the heck is a tato? The slang dictionary says it is a sweet potato, I don’t know if they’re referring to the yam or the ocarina. So I went to the Encyclopedia Of Origami … (did you know I learned how to spell encyclopedia by watching the original Mickey Mouse Club on TV and I always have to sing that dumb song when I type it out) … anyway, the EOO says the TATO is a small flat Japanese treasure box. Sort of a Japanese Coin Purse. It was also easier to fold than I though it would be.
TATO – Japanese Flat Treasure Box
Actually, I solved this one while I was shooting the calendar photo. Well, I solved seven of the eight groups. If you can decode 2 and 5, you can decode all of them except 8. But I haven’t given up yet … I still have until Friday morning to solve it.
SOLUTION: OK, it took me a while to decode S I S as Y N Y in #8, but I finally figured it out. The HOF rock groups are Aerosmith, The Who, Cream, Traffic, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath and Lynynd Skynyrd.
SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE:
She’s napping on the bed in my office, library, music room and creative domain. She apparently wore herself out today following me around the yard as I mowed, trimmed, weed whacked, swept around the yard until I wore myself out. I was racing to beat the arrival of still more days of rain. Renee will be celebrating her fifth birthday on Sunday, and she has been my loyal companion since adopted her when she was nine-months old. She was a rescue pup at the Humane Society of Missouri, and today she is my most loyal and loving companion.
