DAILY CALENDAR CHALLENGE #146 – MAY 26, 2013

#1 THE ORIGAMI CALENDAR CHALLENGE – DÉJÀ VU WEEKEND ALL OVER AGAIN

Yesterday, when I discovered I was S.O.L when it came to an origami challenge, I took it upon myself to create my own origami folding challenge. I decided to fold a baby elephant.DSC07302

A pink, spring flowered version of a baby elephant at that. That left me with only one option for my Sunday challenge … to top what I had done on Saturday and fold A BIG ADULT ELEPHANT! Ok, when you’re working with six-inch squares of folding paper how big can a BIG ADULT ELEPHANT really be. Not much bigger, but I did have to use two six-inch squares of folding paper.  DSC07304How about that, my second and third origami elephants in a single weekend. DUMBO and JUMBO!  In case you’re a newcomer to the SMILING BAGEL first origami elephant I folded was rather tiny, but that was because it was folded from our shrinking dollar.1st Elephant

Guess I have to name him BUCKO!

#2 THE MENSA PUZZLE CALENDAR – SUNDAY HALF HOLDING SUBSTANCESDSC07287

Hopefully, you were able to solve the Saturday Half. But if you didn’t, this one is really easy since they practically give it away in the puzzle description.

AND THE SUNDAY ANSWERS ARE:

snac &  sebut

#3 THE PAGE-A-DAY PUZZLE CALENDAR – LOGIC CROSSWORDDSC07285

And this one is just a little bit harder than Saturday’s Mensa Gridlock Crossword.

AND THE ANSWERS ARE:

[A] 1-limb, 2-area, 3-cork, 4-knee

[D] 1-lack, 2-iron, 3-mere, 4-bake

And in case you’ve been wondering about the background for yesterday’s and today’s calendar pages, they were courtesy of Dierberg’s latest recycled and totally fashionable shopping bags.DSC07291
