MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 212 – JULY 31, 2013
MY CALENDAR FOR WEDNESDAY/DAY 212 – July 31, 2013:
FOR A VERY IMPORTANT DATE.
NO TIME TO SAY HELLO, GOODBYE …
I’M LATE … I’M LATE … I’M LATE!
Okay, who said it, when and where? Nothing like starting the day off with a bit of trivia, even if it is rather late in the afternoon. I’ve been moving at an amazingly slow pace today thanks to a stuffy head and a sinus headache. Blame it on the dreary, weary weather and the mold spores it is multiplying. Also on the fact that the chilled weather we’ve been blessed with sent the AC System in deep rem sleep mode. I guess that’s coming to an end, too. The AC just turned itself on. Guess the in-house temp finally reached 80F. Isn’t it amazing that people in Missouri can always find sometime to complain about? A couple of minutes ago, I was complaining about the fact that I couldn’t hear the sound of typing when I typed on the computer. Without the click, click of the keys, you don’t feel you’ve accomplished anything. Back in my freshman typing class (pre-computer or even electric typewriters) I actually was able to type on a 19th century L. C. Smith typewriter. My typing teacher was an octogenarian who saved the typewriter on which he had learned to type. And students who won his weekly speed typing test were given the chance to try to best him in a speed test on it. No one ever beat Typing Teddy on that machine. He was the only typing teacher in the state of Missouri who predated instructor qualifications for being able to teach typing in a high school.
Guess that little story doesn’t do anything to youth-en me.
Would you believe that I actually made Pease Porridge (aka. split pea soup) for dinner tonight? Took a picture of it cooking but it was to blurred from the steam. Serving it with crispy fried bacon squares on top.
But enough of the maudlin nostalgia!
Good luck from four rabbit’s feet on this one.
