MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 217 – AUGUST 5, 2013

MY DAILY CALENDAR MONDAY, DAY 217: If, contrary to all current local weather wizard forecasts it doesn’t rain today, I will spend the day mowing the lawns. If it does rain I will either work on my computer or take a nap.

11:35 update: It was a cool, but cloudy, morning. I hauled all the grass-cutting gear to the front lawn. Starting at the curb on the lower lawn I cut six 50-foot long swaths before a drop of wet hit the center of my forehead. Was it a raindrop or a loose boweled bird? I cut another swath and started another when the clouds lost control and dumped a torrential rain on me and the lawn. By the time I got all the equipment put away, the rain stopped, but the grass was now to wet to continue mowing. I know when to accept a heaven sent message and take the day off.

MY ORIGAMI CALENDAR CHALLENGE FOR DAY 217 – SOMBRERODSCF0887

And for a real  sombrero I used a sheet of my special folding paper with a different color in each side.DSCF0890

Since Woody would have been completely swallowed up by the sombrero, I asked Renee’s monkey to step in and model it. I originally bought this monkey for Renee the day I brought her home, but after I watched her eviscerate all the stuffed animals in sight I put him on the bookshelf in my office. Renee knows he’s her monkey and eyes him whenever she visits my room. He’s just so cute!

  1. He’s especially cute in his sombrero.

Maybe I should go outside and do yard work–do you think that would make it rain? Since the car’s in the shop, I can’t wash it. Though I could mop the floors….
