MY DAILY CALENDAR FOR FRIDAY, DAY 234 OF 2013: Well, yet another weary, dreary day! What do you expect during the Dog Days of Summer?

Historically DOG DAYS alludes to the period between early July and early September, when Sirius, the so-called Dog Star, rises and sets with the sun. 

This summer, we had near perfect fall weather throughout most of July and August. But in the last few days the temp has been somewhere between 88 and 94. Not scorching, but warmer than the upper 70 that had spoiled us. As far as dogs go …DogDays

that is Mlle. Renee snoring soundly behind me. Ever since I gave her that extra fluffy oversize towel last month, she refuses to sleep anywhere else. Is she spoiled? You better believe it! But she is the best one man dog ever … unless she sees Jimmy or Tommy (my brothers) or any of my nephews.
