MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 272 – SEPTEMBER 29, 2013

MY DAILY CALENDAR FOR SUNDAY, DAY 272 OF 2013:  And the days really do grow short when you reach September. In a lot of many ways! It was a perfect fall day today. And much too good to stay inside. I had planned to go downtown and stroll  THE TASTE OF SAINT LOUIS.TOSL

This is an annual event held each fall that presents the culinary delights and tastings at a modest cost from about 45 of Saint Louis’ best eateries. It also features an art walk …downs.image1_-150x150

An entertainment stage, cooking exhibitions, chef challenges and a lot of people.TOSL2

By the time I got up this morning I ask myself, do I really want to tackle this crowd plus the crowd from the last Cardinal baseball game of the season three of four blocks down the street. Eventually I decided to spend the day at home with my pal and buddy.DSC07782

That’s Mlle. Renee … and please note the lush back lawn  on which she loves to roll around. And this is Mlle. Renee realizing that I have a carrot cookie in my jeans pocket.DSC07781

Anyway, Renee and I ran  (also lounged) around the the yard this afternoon while my round roast cooked slowly in the kitchen. DSC07779By dinner time it should be ready to melt in my mouth. Horseradish and half and half tea chilling in the fridge.

THE ORIGAMI CHALLENGE: Just proof that there was no challenge this weekend.DSC07783

But there were two Mensa puzzles …DSC07785

I might come back later to work them. My roast beef is ready to melt in my mouth now!
