MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 290 – OCTOBER 17, 2013

MY DAILY CALENDAR FOR THURSDAY, DAY 290 OF 2013:  Growing up, I was ingrained with the philosophy of not putting off to tomorrow what you can do today. It’s a shame that our Congress failed to achieve that same upbringing. So they brought us to the brink once again, only to postpone their childish bickering for another three months. As for the Tea Party Congress, they have no right to claim the accomplishments of the Sons of Liberty as their name. Their only accomplishment was to cost  us a few billion lost dollars and make our government look weak and petty in the eyes of the world.

Well, the furnace turned itself on during the middle of the night yesterday, and that was my signal to change my bed for summer to winter mode. So I brought down the winter bedclothes from the top of the closet and striped the bed down. I also added a new fluffy pink towel on top of the bedspread for Mlle. Renee to sleep on.

Also I fixed that Saint Louis standby BBQ Pork Steak for dinner last night. In case you’ve never heard of a pork steak, it’s a cut of meat cut from the shoulder of the pig. Personally, I do not like meat cooked over an open flame. So I slow-cooked my steak in a covered pan in peach wine and seasonings until it was tender. Then I transferred it to an oven pan, applied my barbecue sauce baked it in the oven.DSC07897

Yes, that was a lot of meat, but I’ll have the leftover meat on a crispy bun for lunch or dinner today.

TODAY’S ORIGAMI CHALLENGE — THE BUNNY MASK:

I think I did a variation of this bunny around Easter, but I used the directions from my Big Book Of Origami Folding. I followed the Origami Calendar directions for folding this one.DSC07892

For some reason the bunny looks like a big eared Kermit The Frog.

ABOUT YESTERDAY’S WORDLESS WEDNESDAY …

Hanging Around The Office After I used the office monkey to model the paper tie I folded as Tuesday’s origami project, I returned him to his usual spot on the wall. Yesterday, when I came in the office to post my WORDLESS WEDNESDAY PHOTO I saw him hanging there and I had to take his picture. Guess I’ll let him wear the tie until the next Casual Friday.
