MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 291 – OCTOBER 18, 2013

MY DAILY CALENDAR FOR FRIDAY, DAY 291 OF 2013: Good golly, I just realized that there are only 74 more days left to 2013. The leaves seem to be falling faster every day. And so far, there is not a lot of color to them. I doubt if I’ll rake them up this year. I didn’t last year. Instead I used my leaf blower to round them all up against the back fence where Moms Nature turned them all into leaf mold by the time spring arrived.

TODAY’S ORIGAMI CHALLENGE- A SWEET SWALLOW:

DSC07902Little did I realize that today’s origami project was going to fold down to such a miniscule birdie. In other words the stubby fingers got another workout. It took me three tries to come close to something that resembles the “sweet swallow” on the directions page. And I’ll openly admit my swallow was more sour than sweet.

Oh well, some times the fingers work, and other times they stumble.

Now I have to figure out what I’m going to use for the Weekly Photo Challenge.

I didn’t mention it, but I’m sure glad I added the winter blanket to the bed Wednesday. I usually set the furnace on 65 over night, and Mlle. Renee has been climbing into bed in the middle of the night. She says it is to warm me up, but I notice she’s been snuggling pretty close to me. Anyway, the weather wizards are predicting overnight drops into the 40s and even 30s this weekend.

  1. There’s nothing like a dog to snuggle with when the weather gets cold. Guinness keeps my feet warm and Margot stretches out along my spine under the covers.
