MY DAILY CALENDAR – DAY 309 – NOVEMBER 5, 2013

MY DAILY CALENDAR FOR TUESDAY, DAY 309 OF 2013: Well, today was the first of three days a rain. Actually most of the rain came before Renee and I got out of bed this morning. Then we just had drippy drops falling on and off throughout the day. So that meant Renee had to make her out-of-door trips between the drippy drops. Then when she comes in, she stand at the door looking up at me and waiting for me to get a fluffy towel to dry her off.  Would you believe that I have two sets of towels in the house marked HIS and HERS. You know there is no way to get all the short dog hairs out of a bath towel. (Don’t tell her, but her towels are the ones with the ragged ends.)

TODAY WAS GOOD STEWS DAY:  Because today was so miserable, I decided to get out the crock pot and make a pot of stew. And boy is that a lot of work of cutting and chopping and all day cooking. But it’s so nice and warm to eat on a miserable day.DSC08135

But where are the carrots and onions? Well, the onions disappeared in the long cooking process and I forgot to get the carrots out of the fridge. It was perfect though and I was able to store three more dinners in the freezer.

TODAY’S ORIGAMI CHALLENGE – KING ARTHUR’S CROWN:

DSC08138Wouldn’t you just know it that a fictional king would wear a paper origami crown. And notice that I used to two-toned paper to make it look really regal.

Unfortunately, the crown was too big for any of regular cast of characters to wear. “But I’ll make you KING,” I pleaded. And my logical choice … Hanging Around The Office said, “No way, I’m still hanging on the wall wearing that paper tie. Besides, don’t you know that uneasy lies the head that wears the crown?”  Apparently someone has been doing more than hanging on the bookshelf. Apparently he made it to the Shakeseare on the top shelf. Anyway, he did suggest his nephew Artie who is king of the jungle.DSC08139

(Besides, Mlle. Renee will never know I borrowed him to take the picture.)
