IT’S SUNDAY, AND ANNIE WAS RIGHT!

DSC08937  After a series of repeated damp and dreary days, Annie came through for us and the sun actually came out for SUNDAY! And the temps actually moved into the mid-50s.  Mlle. Renee actually rejoiced and insisted on an extended play date outside where she could actually frolic in the warming solar rays. When she finally came in she immediately took an afternoon nap … without even inviting me.

I, however, failed to get a nap break because I had things to get done around the house. (OK, so I didn’t get out of bed until noon!)  I had to use a cake mix that I purchased last summer before it expired.DSC08938

It was a Key Lime and Cherry Cake with Dark Chocolate Frosting. I baked it in a Bundt pan and it came out perfectly.  Ask me how it was later.

I also had a very difficult Origami figure to fold.  Here’s a clue as to what it was …

Duuun dun duuun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun BOM BOM dun dun dun dun dun dun doo dedoo doo dedoo dede doo dede doo dededoo!

If that wasn’t a sure giveaway, maybe this will help!jaws

Yes, today, I folded  a SHARK! Don’t know if it was actually a Great White shark because I used purple paper to fold it.DSC08935

And it took 22 folds to complete it! It also took me longer to fold than it did to mix and bake the cake. Which also disappeared faster than an ocean full of frantic swimmers.

  1. Love the shark—and it was foreshadowed by Renee’s big open mouthed yawn!
