THE LAST SUNNY DAY BEFORE THE SNOWS START AGAIN!
I’m sitting here this morning drinking a cup of English Breakfast Tea from a proper tea cup with saucer. It’s the sole remaining cup and saucer from the last set of dishes that my mother owned and used. It was her second set of dishes that she purchased in the early seventies when Corning introduced Correlle dinnerware. Prior to that she used a set of china that she, her family and my father’s family collected by going to the movies starting in 1937. Yes, they actually gave you dishes to entice you into going to the movies in the Thirties and Forties. I broke the last of the movie dinnerware back in the mid-eighties. That’s also when I bought her a replacement set of Correlle that had mugs rather than cups and saucers. She never really used that set of dishes except when we had company. I really don’t blame her, I didn’t even include the mug in my MUG TRIBUTE.
I spent the day cleaning up the kitchen and putting everything in its place and washing the kitchen floor. I don’t know why, the snow is supposed to start at 9:00 on Tuesday morning and continue until noon on Wednesday. Accumulation is supposed to be anywhere from six to nine inches or even more. I don’t care, because the really-really Armageddon snow storm won’t arrive until late Friday or Saturday. Same old same old! What next fire-breathing dragons‽
Yeah, you guessed it, I’m cleaning up the odds and ends photos that have been cluttering up my desk top. I also cooked okra and tomatoes for tonight’s dinner. Also the second dragon lost his jewel!
