30DOC – Origami Butterflies … Day 6

Sunday is the sixth day of July and I’m still folding a paper butterfly in my 30 Days Of Creativity.DSC00101

THE BUTTERY YELLOW JENNY FLUTTERBY

Since I fold them, I get to name them. And please note that the names have no relationship to any butterfly living or dead.  Some I name on whim, some for a friend and this one for my niece and godchild who called butterflies FLUTTERBYS.

And here is a photo of a real butterfly that actually can be seen flying around Missouri.MoBut1

THE BLACK SWALLOW

I’ve actually seen these in my backyard. But not often.

And where would the butterflies be without the blossoms in my garden. Here’s what was blooming today …DSC00090

  1. Oh my gosh, the colors in that last photo…

    • They were my mother’s favorite — pink and yellow pastel glads. I used to dig up the bulbs each fall and she would replant them in the spring. When she couldn’t get out and do yard work, I just left them there one fall. And they just kept coming up every year. That was about 12 years ago.
