Weird Storm Clouds Moving In

Since Today was the Ides Of March, I was really expecting some weird weather to move into the area. Ok, the temperatures did climb into the eighties. And our neighbor state Illinois was under several tornado watches.

Mlle Renee spent her afternoon basking in the warm sun. And I tried to catch a quick nap in an attempt to negate the dozy effects of daylight savings time. It becomes harder each year as I grow older.

Then late this afternoon the strangest storm clouds I’ve ever seen filled the skies overhead.DSC02049

They were moving in a north easterly direction, most probably to give credence to the weather forecaster’s storm alert. With all the news coverage centered on primary election results, never did hear if the storm developed or not. But Renee did not like the clouds overhead and she ran into the house and into my bedroom. (Her storm safety cover!) And not being a dummy, I joined her and we both took a nap.

MY WEEKEND CALENDAR…DAYS 292/293 – OCTOBER 19/20, 2013

MY WEEKEND CALENDAR FOR DAYS 292 AND 293 OF 2013:

SATURDAY: I went to the first birthday party for my great-nephew. It was a fun occasion filled with kids, fun, games, lots of balls and best of all cake!

Who could ask for anything more or better?

SUNDAY: The weather was sunny and bright and I took advantage of it to cut the back lawns and get the back ready for bad weather to come. It was a comfortable grass cutting day, and I actually accomplished more than I thought I would.

MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 232 – AUGUST 21, 2013

MY DAILY CALENDAR FOR WEDNESDAY, DAY 232 OF 2013: Boy, do I have a case of the lazies today! So far today, I’ve started a half-dozen projects, and the only thing I’ve completed was taking a nap and eating two black jelly beans. And they were the last from my pre-Easter stash of black jelly birds eggs. For some reason, licorice jelly beans aren’t in high demand. Probably because they don’t want to have Chow Chow or Puffy Lion Dog colored tongues.Chow chow

For some reason, they always remind me of Bert Lehr.

MY ORIGAMI CHALLENGE OF THE DAY – OSTRICHDSCF0964This was a hard critter for a folder with short, stubby fingers to fold. But I did get it completed on the second try.DSCF0965

You know, If I had used pink folding paper I probably could have passed it of as a flamingo.

In case you’re in the mood for a puzzle, here’s today’s Mensa Puzzle.DSCF0963

If you’re not in puzzle mode today, here’s some art for you to view.  I call it …

MY DAILY CALENDAR…DAY 202 – JULY 21, 2013

MY CALENDAR FOR SUNDAY/DAY 202 – July 21, 2013: I was a bit under the weather yesterday, it was hot, sultry, humid and totally oppressive. So Renee and I slept late and stayed inside with the AC all day. OK, I did brush Renee with her magic fingers dog grooming brush that catches all the loose hair. If she could articulate the words … more, More, MORE … that’s all I would have been hearing. I did turn on the TV in the afternoon and we both stretched out on our personal sofas for an afternoon nap. Golf broadcasts are a great nap inducer.

THE SUNDAY ORIGAMI CALENDAR CHALLENGE – which was the same as the Saturday page and it again sparked another protest demonstration.

DSCF0597 Today’s demonstration was sparked by the headline (MOSTLY BARK AND NO BITE!) which the Anti-dog Defamation Coalition deemed to be somewhat offensive.DSCF0606

They decided to put a little bite into their barks of protest and chewed the calendar page to pieces. That will teach you to mess with origami lovers and/or origami characters.

Thankfully, the Mensa Puzzle Calendar has a workable puzzle for today, and the weather calendar has the next four days listed for no sun and a lot of rain I think I’ll spend the afternoon working the puzzle or taking a nap. What the heck! We could do both.21
